Everyone is Different
Everyone is Different is a New Zealand health education series of six titles which address some of the most common health issues faced daily in our early childhood education centres and primary schools.
The series is aimed at helping children understand and relate to those of their peers who have specific health differences. It is pitched at a reading age of around 9 years, so may be used by pupils themselves and/or teachers as a class or health resource.
Each title focuses on a particular health issue and covers areas including how peers cope with these health needs on a daily basis, how those with the condition like to be treated, how others can help, and the roles of caregivers, parents and teachers.
Told from the child’s perspective, this series is presented in a vibrant photographic format. It aims to create the awareness that most people with these health needs can achieve much of what they want to.
Everyone is Different has proved popular as both a classroom (health budget/science budget) and a library set.
