Testimonials

Here's what others are saying about us ...

The students were hooked on the originality of the Talking Pen concept. Interest hasn't dropped as the year has progressed.

The students are encouraged to read the book several times with the pen and then without. They like to "show off" their reading to the teacher by reading the books without the pen. This reflects the quality of the story as a stand alone. By the end of the year, Year 2/3 students could read the story without the pen.

We held a literacy education evening for parents. Students demonstrated the Talking Pen. Parents thought they were fantastic and wanted to know where they could purchase them from.

The new entrants use the pens mainly with the posters.

Basically, we are thrilled with the enjoyment the pens create but also the interesting texts that also encourage reading.

How long have you been using the resources?
Since 2010

Do you find the resources easy to use?
Yes

What have you found the resources most useful for?
Working with reading recovery children – letter identification and making/breaking at various levels. Also different ways of making a sound all in one reader.

Do the students enjoy material?
Absolutely – they enjoy the patterning of the language, the stories, the bold that allows for easy recognition (and therefore success). They provide a great transition from concept learning to your readers to their own reading and writing.

Thank you very much.
